Park access and cave access are different
Reaching the Upper park and completing the cave path are different tasks. Steps, narrow passages and wet surfaces may be present. If the cave route does not meet your needs, ask about alternative viewpoints in the upper park rather than assuming the whole visit is impossible.
A continuous path at Lower Düden
Check the entrance, kerbs, gradients, surface and rest areas along your intended route. Saying “the park is flat” does not describe every section from parking to a chosen viewpoint. Plan assistance and the return journey. Boat boarding needs a separate accessibility check.
Useful questions to ask in advance
Which entrance is step-free? Where is the nearest suitable parking or drop-off point? Is an accessible toilet operating? Are there narrow passages or steep sections? Is maintenance affecting access? Describe your own wheelchair, stroller or mobility needs rather than relying on a general “accessible” label.
