Düden Waterfall guide EN

Lower Düden

No ticket, no closing time, and it still has water in August. For most trips this is the one that fits.

Water falling off a cliff into the Mediterranean.

About 8 to 10 km east of Antalya centre, roughly 2 km from Lara beach. The clifftop park is free. This is the one that runs all year.

Two ways to see it

From the clifftop

There is a park on the edge above the falls with viewing platforms. It is free, and it is the easy option: you can be there and back inside an hour from central Antalya. The catch is the angle. From above you see the top of the drop and the sea, not the fall itself.

From the water

Boat trips run out of Kaleiçi old harbour, Antalya port and the Kundu jetty and pass underneath. This is the view in most photographs. Trips run from about an hour up to a full day with swimming stops, and operators quote around 25 euro for an adult and 15 for a child, with some full day tours listed at 30 to 40 dollars.

Prices observed on operator sites, August 2026. We do not sell tours and do not take a commission.

If you are here in summer, come here. The upper falls drop to around 8 m³/s in July and August. This one keeps falling into the sea whatever the season, which is why it survives the summer better. Month by month

How long it takes

If youAllow
Stop at the clifftop park20 – 30 min
Combine with a walk along the cliff1 hour
Take the short boat trip~60 min on the water
Take a full day boat trip~5 hours

Getting there

If you are staying in Lara this is the close one, around two kilometres, roughly ten minutes by car. Some guides say twenty kilometres from Lara, which is wrong and sends people the long way round.

From Antalya centre it is eight to ten kilometres east. City buses run out this way, but the route numbers quoted online contradict each other and we have not been able to verify them on the ground, so we are not printing a list yet.

The name

Locally this waterfall is Karpuzkaldıran. You will also see the whole system called Alexander Falls in older material. Both refer to the same water, and neither name is used on the road signs, which say Düden.
